At Irwin Door Locks Shop, we stand behind the quality of our security products just as we secure your doors. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase of electronic entry door locks, deadbolts, or other hardware, we offer a straightforward returns and exchanges process.
Our Return Policy
- Return Window: 15 days from the date of delivery
- Condition: Items must be unused, in original packaging with all tags and accessories
- Return Shipping: Customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error
Note: For security reasons, Keying and Installation Kits that have been opened or used cannot be returned or exchanged due to their nature as security products.
How to Initiate a Return or Exchange
Step 1: Submit Your Request
Email our customer service team at [email protected] with the following information (or use our template below):
Step 2: Receive Authorization
Within 2 business days, we’ll email you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions.
Step 3: Ship Your Return
Package the item securely with the RMA number clearly visible on the outside of the package. We recommend using a trackable shipping method.

Step 4: Processing Your Return
Once we receive and inspect your return (typically within 3-5 business days after delivery), we’ll process your refund or exchange.
Refund Information
- Processing Time: 3-5 business days after we receive your return
- Refund Method: Original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal)
- Deductions: Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error
Exchange Policy
For exchanges of equal or greater value:
- We’ll ship the replacement item once we receive your return
- For exchanges of higher value, you’ll be charged the difference
- Shipping charges apply for the new item unless the exchange is due to our error
International Returns
Customers outside the U.S. are responsible for:
- All return shipping costs
- Any customs fees or import taxes
- Original shipping charges cannot be refunded for international orders
Damaged or Defective Items
If you receive a damaged or defective product (rare for our security-grade hardware):
- Contact us within 3 days of delivery
- Provide photos of the damage/defect
- We’ll arrange for a replacement at no additional cost
